Kensington Community High School

Kensington Community High School is a small government secondary college catering for students who require an alternative education program.  The school was established in 1975 and since 1989 has been housed in the refurbished historic administration block of the former Newmarket Saleyards.

The school’s aim is to provide a safe and supportive learning environment to those students experiencing difficulties within education, which promotes skills and confidence for life long learning and develops in students a sense of personal responsibility to contribute positively to the wider community.

The school has an enrolment of approximately 90 students.  Curriculum covers Key Learning Areas with Victorian Certificate of Education, Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning and Vocational Education & Training programs.  In addition to core curriculum programs, a range of programs are conducted to provide enhanced student engagement and pro-social skill development.

We offer a great place to learn, with small class sizes and individualised support from caring teachers to help students achieve their learning goals.
